Location: Deptford (Ocean State Job Lot)
Category: Integrated Pest Exclusion & Facility Hygiene
OMNIServiceUSA executed a high-priority “Seal the Box” initiative at the Deptford facility.
This project was a comprehensive structural intervention designed to neutralize multiple rodent entry points and restore sanitary conditions in critical operational zones, including the warehouse, retail floor, and utility areas.
The facility faced significant biological and structural vulnerabilities. A specialized inspection revealed active nesting evidence (droppings) in the utility room, alongside numerous "wear and tear" gaps under high-traffic doors. Specific failures included a 5-inch gap under the utility room door, drywall penetrations, floor holes near the Avalon partition, and improperly installed weatherstripping at the driver’s entrance. These defects compromised the building's biosafety perimeter and internal hygiene standards.
Our team implemented a multi-stage fortification and sanitation strategy:
Precision Exclusion: We installed industrial-grade Xcluder rodent-proof sweeps and heavy-duty brush seals on five primary doors, including the warehouse, stationery aisle, and rug department.
Structural Armoring: In the utility room, we installed a custom 5-inch aluminum threshold and armored 50 linear feet of lower wall sections with 12-inch high plywood to prevent gnawing and nesting.
Substrate Repair: Floor and wall penetrations were sealed using a combination of galvanized mesh, Xcluder rodent-proof fabric, and high-strength mortar to create a permanent physical barrier.
Sanitation & Hygiene: The utility room underwent a professional-grade decontamination, including the removal of all biological waste and a full-room disinfection to ensure staff safety.
