The focus was the primary access ramp and adjacent sidewalks, where failing patches had created a hazardous and non-functional transition for customers and logistics.
The facility’s main shopping cart ramp—the sole artery for customer ingress and egress—exhibited severe delamination. Existing concrete patches were "lifting," creating significant vertical offsets. These gaps were not only trip hazards but also physically obstructed the movement of shopping carts, causing operational friction and potential damage to store equipment. Because this specific ramp bears the constant stress of heavy cart loads, a standard surface patch was insufficient; it required a structural-grade bond to withstand high-frequency shear forces.
Our masonry team initiated a comprehensive extraction of the failing material, clearing all loose and lifting concrete to reach a sound structural base. We utilized a high-strength, fiber-reinforced concrete mix specifically engineered for high-impact commercial ramps.
Precision Preparation: We mechanically etched the substrate to ensure a superior mechanical bond.
Leveling & Transition: The new concrete was expertly poured and hand-troweled to create a perfectly flush transition between the ramp incline and the sidewalk level.
Durability Finish: We applied a broom-finish texture to provide essential slip-resistance for pedestrians and traction for shopping cart wheels, followed by a full site cleanup and disposal of all debris.
